Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Over 33,000 New Cases, 308 Deaths Reported

India's daily Covid-19 infection rate fell to under 35,000 even as a third wave, projected to hit its peak in October, threatens to disrupt economic and social activity in the country.
As many as 33,736 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 9 a.m. on Sept. 11.
Daily recoveries, at around 32,200, failed to exceed fresh cases, causing a marginal rise in the active case load to 3.91 lakh.
The weekly positivity rate has remained below 3% for the last 78 days.
A large chunk of the fresh cases come from Kerala, with over 25,000 new cases and 177 deaths recorded in the southern state yesterday.

Around 73.05 crore vaccine doses have been administered so far under the nationwide vaccination drive, with over 65 lakh doses being given in the last 24 hours.
India's death toll, however, rose to 4.42 lakh with over 300 deaths reported in the past day, making the country one of the world's worst impacted.
