Active Covid-19 cases in India continued to decline, even as the country's healthcare infrastructure braces for a third wave, projected to peak in October.
As many as 19,740 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Oct. 9. That compares with 23,070 recoveries in the same period. Fresh cases continued to be exceeded by daily recoveries for the thirteenth day.
A total of over 4.5 lakh people have succumbed to the deadly pathogen, with 248 fatalities being reported in the last 24 hours.
