WHO Approves Covaxin For Emergency Use

The World Health Organization granted emergency use authorisation for Bharat Biotech's Covid-19 vaccine Covaxin.

The WHO approved the vaccine’s use in people aged 18 and older on a two-dose schedule with four weeks between shots, according to a statement on Wednesday.

The Technical Advisory Group, an independent advisory committee of the WHO, had on Oct. 26 sought "additional clarifications" from the company for Covaxin to conduct a final "risk-benefit assessment" for emergency use authorisation of the vaccine.
