India reported the lowest number of new Covid-19 cases in more than 200 days, in a relief to the country's healthcare system bracing for a third wave.
18,346 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Oct. 5, the lowest since March 10.
Active cases dropped further to 2.52 lakh, accounting for just 0.75% of the total tally. The weekly positivity rate has also remained below 3% for more than a 100 days.
