Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Less Than 10,000 Cases Recorded For Third Day In A Row

India continued to record less than 10,000 fresh Covid-19 infections for the third day in a row even amid worries about the new Omicron variant.

The country added 8,309 fresh cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Nov. 29.

  • Total confirmed cases: 3,45,80,376.

  • Total number of active cases: 1,03,859.

  • Total patients cured/discharged/migrated: 3,40,08,183.

  • Total deaths: 4,68,790.

  • Number of fresh cases in last 24 hours: 8,309.

  • One-day recoveries: 9,905.

  • One-day deaths: 236.

India, in the meanwhile, has vaccinated 122.4 crore people, with 42,04,171 doses administered in the last 24 hours, the Health Ministry data showed. Total number of tests done during the previous day was 7.62 lakh.

Maharashtra saw its highest turnout in seven weeks on Nov. 28 with 7 lakh people stepping out to get vaccinated. Officials attributed it to emerging concerns about the new virus variant.

As a result, India has halted plans to resume easing of travel restrictions from all countries.

Global Update

Globally, coronavirus infections have exceeded 26.2 crore, with more than 52 lakh losing their lives to the Covid-19 disease.

Over 791 crore doses have been already administered to people around the world.
