Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Fresh Omicron Cases Recorded, Maharashtra Leads Tally

Daily Covid-19 Update

India recorded 484 less fresh cases than the previous day even as the 'highly-transmissible' Omicron variant continues to gradually spread throughout the country.

The world's most populous country recorded 7,189 cases in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry's update at 8 a.m. on December 25. The fresh infections compare with around 7,286 recoveries in the period.

Maharashtra has now recorded 108 Covid-19 cases infected with the Omicron variant, with 42 of the Omicron-variant patients either discharged or migrated.

India's Omicron case-tally now stands at 415 cases, with 115 recovered from the new variant. India added 57 new Omicron cases in the last 24 hours.
