Coronavirus India Latest Updates: India Administers Over 2 Crore Doses On Friday
India's active Covid-19 caseload fell to the lowest in three weeks even as the daily infection rate stayed above the 30,000-mark.
As many as 34,403 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Sept. 17.
Cases have increased in the last two days after staying under 30,000 for the preceding four days. Active cases now make up 1.02% of the total tally, while the weekly positivity rate has stayed below 3% for 84 days.

Over 2 Crore Doses Given In India On Friday
India's daily vaccinations against Covid-19 crossed the 2-crore mark on Friday—the highest tally it has achieved in a single day.
Over 2.18 crore doses were given as of 6 p.m. on Friday.
The tally was more than triple the daily average of 73 lakh doses that have been administered in the rest of September.
Bihar, Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat were the top 5 states that administered most vaccines on Friday.
Over 1 Billion Vaccines Given In South-East Asia: WHO
The World Health Organization said over a billion Covid-19 vaccines have been administered in affiliated South-East Asian countries, news agency ANI tweeted. Of the total, India has given a majority, with over 76 crore doses (first and second) administered, WHO said.
