Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Active Cases Drop To 2.75 Lakh

Active Covid-19 cases in India dropped further to 2.75 lakh, as daily cases stayed below the 30,000-mark for the eighth day in a row.
As many as 28,246 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours, according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 8 a.m. on Oct. 1. That compares with 26,727 recoveries recorded in the same period.
Active cases currently account for 0.82% of the total tally, the lowest since March last year.

India's vaccination drive against Covid-19 continued to gather pace in September even as it fell short of the rate that's required to fully vaccinate all adults by the end of the year, which was the target set by the Modi administration.
To date, more than 88.94 crore vaccine shots have been given in India. Yet, only one in four have received the two doses required to provide sufficient protection against symptomatic disease.
