Coronavirus India Latest Updates: Active Cases Decline For First Time In Six Days

Fresh cases of Covid-19 in India fell below the 40,000-mark for the first time in six days even as a projected third wave threatens to hit its peak in October.

Nearly 39,000 people tested positive for the coronavirus in the last 24 hours according to the Health Ministry’s update as of 9 a.m. on Sept. 6.

Daily recoveries, at around 43,000, overtook fresh cases for the time since Aug. 31, helping the active case load decline to 4.04 lakh.

Active cases now account for 1.23% of the total cases in India.

Daily deaths from the virus also declined to 219, which is the lowest figure in nearly five months.
