Indian Tech Stocks Are Having Their Best April In Nine Years

The National Stock Exchange’s Nifty IT Index has been the standout performer so far this year. Not only has the index been the best performer among the 11 sector gauges complied by the bourse, it also set to break a seven-year old jinx.

The Nifty IT index has risen over 10 percent in April – a first for the month in eight years. It will also be the best April for the sector gauge since 2009. Besides Wipro Ltd. (-1.8 percent), all other nine members of the index advanced led by Mindtree Ltd. (+36.1 percent) and Tata Elxsi Ltd. (21.6 percent).
