Sterling and Oil Mean U.K. Inflation Is Going One Way: Chart

(Bloomberg) -- U.K. inflation is accelerating as the 15 percent pound’s drop since the Brexit vote in June boosts input costs. Data on Tuesday will probably show the latter are rising at a double-digit annual pace, which will feed through to consumer prices in the coming months. Worsening the outlook for inflation is this month’s output cut by the Organization of Petroleum Exporting Countries, which has pushed oil prices to a 17-month high.
