(Bloomberg Businessweek) -- Many midmarket merchants are expected to have a tough 2020. Affluent customers of luxury goods purveyors probably won’t feel the slowing economy’s pinch, while discounters and sellers of low-priced items should benefit as consumers tighten their belts. But conditions aren’t great for many mall-based outfits stuck in the middle.
