Vietnam Says It Opposes China’s Fishing Ban That Starts May 1
(Bloomberg) -- Vietnam rejects China’s ban on fishing beginning May 1 in waters that include parts of the Gulf of Tonkin and the Paracel Islands region, Ministry of Foreign Affairs Vice Spokesperson Doan Khac Viet said during a Hanoi briefing.
Vietnam opposed China’s seasonal fishing restrictions last year.
The fishing ban violates Vietnam’s sovereignty in the South China Sea and international law, Viet said.
