Ujjivan Financial Services Ltd. has dismissed speculations around listing of its small finance bank arm, saying it’s still evaluating the IPO route.

“A lot of things have to happen before we come to the market,” its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Ittira Davis told BloombergQuint in an interview. “We need to do a proper evaluation of this to see if this is the right way to go.”

Davis also struck down market rumours that the non-bank lender would prevent its existing shareholders from participating in the Ujjivan Small Finance Bank IPO.

“If we do take this route, retail shareholders will participate in the process subject to applicable laws,” he said, adding they would be allotted 10 percent of Ujjivan Small Finance Bank’s shares at a special price.
