Toshiba to Delay Fiscal Year 2019 Financial Results to End-May

(Bloomberg) -- Toshiba Corporation plans to postpone the announcement of its consolidated financial resulted for fiscal 2019 to the end of May from May 14, according to a statement.

• The postponement was in part due to potential delays in completing accounting procedures at some overseas subsidiaries due to lockdowns triggered by the coronavirus pandemic as well as a reduction of business days in the company and its associates in Japan. The overseas units were not named in the statement.
• Toshiba said it also decided to delay the results announcement to prevent the further spread of the virus and to ensure the health and safety of staff closing the annual accounts and carrying out audit work.
• The company said it is focusing on the impact of the pandemic on its financial results for fiscal year 2019 and will announce any matters that require disclosure.
• Toshiba separately said the AGM for the April 2019-March 2020 fiscal term will be held in or after July this year. The board has set the record date for voting rights for the AGM on May 15.
• Year-end dividend plans remain unchanged, according to Toshiba.
