Three People Kidnapped in Nigeria's Kaduna State Freed by Police

(Bloomberg) -- Three people kidnapped at Kajuru Castle in Nigeria’s northern Kaduna state on April 19 have been freed, state police spokesman Yakubu Sabo said in emailed statement.

A British aid worker and a Nigerian citizen were killed at the time of the abductions at the luxury hotel near the city of Kaduna.

Kidnappings for ransom are commonplace in Nigeria, Africa’s top oil producer. In the north, militants aligned to Islamic State and Boko Haram, which has waged a decade-long violent campaign, have periodically resorted to kidnapping foreigners to raise cash.
