BSE Ltd. will move the first set of stocks to the next-day settlement or T+1 starting Feb. 25.

The first 100 stocks with the least market capitalisation transition to the shorter settlement cycle.

BSE will see close to 2,500 stocks transition to T+1 compared to NSE's 285 in the next six months. That's because more companies are listed on Asia's oldest stock exchange.

In all, 5,300 unique stocks—counting the scrips listed on both the exchanges as one—will move to T+1 by Jan. 27, 2023 in 12 phases.

Stock exchanges, clearing corporations and depositories will roll out the next-day rolling settlement cycle for equity trading as the stocks move to T+1.
