Reliance Jio Pays Rs 195 Crore To Clear All AGR Dues In Advance

Meanwhile, Reliance Jio’ rivals, Airtel and Vodafone Idea, have sought more time to pay a total of Rs 88,624 crore in AGR dues.

Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd. has paid Rs 195 crore to the telecom department to clear all adjusted gross revenue dues accounted till Jan. 31, 2020, according to an official source on Thursday.

The Supreme Court had set Jan. 23 as the deadline to pay AGR dues.

"Reliance Jio has paid Rs 195 crore for AGR. This includes advance money company has paid for the month of January 2020," the source said. The company has made provision of Rs 177 crore towards government revenue share based on the Supreme Court's judgement dated Oct. 24, 2019.

Rivals of Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel Ltd. and Vodafone Idea Ltd., have to pay a total of Rs 88,624 crore in AGR dues and have sought more time to make the payment. The telecom department has directed no coercive action against them until further orders from the Supreme Court.

The apex court will next week hear the telecom firms’ modification petition over the payment of AGR dues.
