NCLAT Asks RCom To Approach NCLT For Refund Of Rs 577 Crore Paid To Ericsson

The National Company Law Appellate Tribunal has directed the resolution professional of Reliance Communications Ltd. to raise demand for Rs 577 crore paid to Ericsson SA before the Mumbai bench of the National Company Law Tribunal

The Anil Ambani-led RCom is undergoing insolvency at India’s bankruptcy courts.

A two-member NCLAT bench, headed by Chairperson Justice SJ Mukhopadhaya, asked the resolution professional to file the claims before the NCLT.

“We are not inclined to take this interim Application…,” said the NCLAT.

RCom had paid Rs 577 crore to Ericsson on the direction of the Supreme Court.

On Wednesday, RCom shares fell 1.06 percent to Rs 0.93 apiece while the benchmark Sensex gained 0.23 percent to end the day at 36,563.88 points.
