Plane Kills Man on Runway at Austin-Bergstrom Airport in Texas

(Bloomberg) -- A person was killed after being struck by an aircraft as it landed on the runway, Austin-Bergstrom International Airport in Texas said.

A Southwest Airlines Co. flight from Dallas, operated on a Boeing Co. 737 jet, reported that there “might have been a person on the runway” after landing in Austin, Flightradar24.com said. Another Southwest flight from Denver landed just before the Dallas one, according to Flightradar24. The runway is closed.

The deceased was an adult, the City of Austin’s Emergency Medical Services said in a Twitter post.

No further details were immediately available.
