Oman Oil Companies Appoint Group CEO as They Merge Operations

(Bloomberg) -- Oman Oil Co. and Oman Oil Refineries & Petroleum Industries Co. appointed a group chief executive to oversee the integration of their operations.

Musab bin Abdullah al Mahrouqi will become the Group CEO effective Dec. 2, according to a Twitter posting by Oman Oil Refineries.

Oman’s government, the shareholders of both companies, had agreed earlier to the proposal of merging their downstream businesses as phase one of the integration, according to the statement. A detailed process will be worked out over the coming months.

Oman Oil holds stakes in overseas businesses including Hungarian blue-chip Mol Nyrt., India’s Bharat Oman Refineries Ltd. and Portugal’s REN-Redes Energeticas Nacionais SA.
