Ola's Bhavish Aggarwal To Focus On New Projects, CFO Arun Kumar To Manage Daily Operations

Bhavish Aggarwal has confirmed reports that he will step away from Ola’s daily affairs to focus on other projects.

Bhavish Aggarwal has confirmed reports that he will step away from Ola’s daily affairs to focus on other projects including the electric vehicles unit that is grappling with delays and other challenges.

Group Chief Financial Officer GR Arun Kumar will help manage the ride-hailing service's operations, Aggarwal, founder and chief executive officer at parent ANI Technologies Pvt., confirmed in his tweet. "We will accelerate ambitious new projects like our car, cell gigafactory etc. & deepen focus on tech & engineering. More soon."

The Economic Times and Moneycontrol reported earlier that Aggarwal is stepping away from day-to-day operations to focus on engineering, product and team building of future businesses like electric vehicles and quick commerce.

Kumar, also the CFO at Ola Electric and interim head of Ola Financial Services Pvt., will work with all the vertical leaders and drive key metrics, and lead reviews across businesses, according to the reports.

The internal rejig allows Aggarwal to focus more on new businesses including the electric vehicle unit that is grappling with delays, and facing questions on quality and safety after a scooter caught fire.
