Mizuho Americas Execution Services Head Robert Wright Dies at 47

(Bloomberg) -- Robert Wright, head of execution services sales and trading at Mizuho Financial Group Inc.’s U.S. arm, has died. He was 47.

“We are deeply saddened by the news of Bob’s passing and our thoughts and prayers are with his wife and children at this most difficult time,” Darlene Pasquill, head of Mizuho America’s equity division, said in an emailed statement. The bank declined to give further details on his death.

Wright joined Mizuho in August after spending more than two decades at Bank of America Corp., most recently as head of U.S. cash trading. He also used to teach high school history, according to his LinkedIn profile.

“Bob was widely known across the firm for his passion for life and concern for others, and he will be missed by all,” Pasquill said. “In his short time at Mizuho, Bob built a strong team that is committed to carrying out his vision.”
