MG Motor Unveils ZS EV, Launch In Five Cities In January

MG Motor ZS EV is just the beginning of the company’s electric-vehicle drive in India as  more such products are in the pipeline.

MG Motor India Pvt. Ltd. unveiled the ZS electric car on Thursday and plans to launch the electric vehicle in five cities in January.

"This is going to be our second product after MG Hector SUV. We firmly believe the future of automobiles is connected and electric," Rajeev Chaba, managing director and president of MG Motor India told reporters at the unveil in New Delhi. The company has tied up with various partners to launch the ZS EV with entire charging ecosystem.

According to Chaba, the MG Motor ZS EV is just the beginning of its electric-vehicle drive in India as the company plans to launch more such products in the future.

MG Motor will start ZS EV sales with five cities—Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Ahmedabad and Bangalore. The company plans to launch the model, which delivers 143 PS of power and has a range of over 300 km, in January next year.

The model would be produced at the company's manufacturing facility at Halol, Gujarat.
