Maruti Suzuki Baleno RS’ Price Cut By Rs 1 Lakh

Maruti Suzuki India Ltd. has cut prices of Baleno RS hatchback by Rs 1 lakh, India’s largest carmaker said Friday, a couple of days after it announced a price cut to pass on benefits of reduced corporate tax rates to customers.

The Baleno RS will now retail at an ex-showroom price of Rs 7,88,913 in Delhi.

The company had on Wednesday reduced ex-showroom prices of select models by Rs 5,000, over and above discounts and promotional offers. The Maruti Suzuki cars on which the price cut is applicable are Alto 800, Alto K10, Swift Diesel, Celerio, Baleno Diesel, Ignis, Dzire Diesel, Tour S Diesel, Vitara Brezza and S-Cross.

These models are priced in the range of Rs 2.93-11.49 lakh.

In a regulatory filing, Maruti Suzuki said that along with the above reduction, it has also reduced the ex-showroom price of Baleno RS by Rs 1 lakh.

Maruti Suzuki positions the Baleno RS as a "high-performance" hatchback powered by a 1.0-litre boosterjet petrol engine, which delivers 105 BHP of power compared to the 83 BHP put out by the naturally aspirated 1.2-litre petrol Baleno.
