L&T-MHPS Boilers Wins Contract For THDC India’s Super Thermal Power Project In Uttar Pradesh

L&T-MHPS Boilers will supply and commission a steam generator at THDC India’s Khurja Super Thermal Power Project in Uttar Pradesh.

L&T-MHPS Boilers, a joint venture of Larsen & Toubro Ltd. and MHPS, Japan, has won an order to supply and commission a steam generator at THDC India Ltd.’s super thermal power project in Uttar Pradesh.

L&T did not provide the exact value of the contract but as per its project classification, the value of the contracts were in the "large" category—in the range of Rs 2,500 to Rs 5,000 crore.

L&T-MHPS Boilers undertakes engineering, design and manufacturing of supercritical boilers up to 1000 MW/unit. THDC India is a 25:75 joint venture of the Government of India and Government of Uttar Pradesh.

"The scope of work for L&T-MHPS Boilers includes design, engineering, manufacture, supply, erection and commissioning of steam generator and associated packages, including site-levelling, for THDC's 2x660 MW Khurja Super Thermal Power Project in Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh," the company said in a regulatory filing Friday.

L&T-MHPS Boilers is currently executing nine units of steam generator packages for similar large capacity steam generators in India, totalling 5,940 MW.
