Jyothy Laboratories Ltd. is mulling a big-ticket acquisition of around Rs 1,000 crore in the next financial year to achieve its target of doubling down revenue by 2021, said its Joint Managing Director Ullas Kamath.

“It makes sense if it’s one big-ticket acquisition like Henkel's India operation (in 2011) so that there is a lot of synergy in our manufacturing and distribution reach,” Kamath told BloombergQuint. “Once in five to six years if you do a decent acquisition, that’ll get you inorganic growth of around 25 percent, and organically if you’re growing at 10-12 percent, it’s easier to double your turnover and that's exactly where we are now.”

The owner of Exo and Pril dish-washer brands is currently at number two position in the segment with a market share of 25 percent, Kamath said, adding that the company does not aspire to be a market leader in the vertical as market share is not as important as profitability.
