Multiplex operator Inox Leisure Ltd. will continue to add screens at an aggressive pace as it expects a spate of new movie releases to keep drawing audiences to its theatres.

“Last year, we opened 85 screens, that was a record in India. We were opening one screen after every four days,” Inox Leisure’s Chief Executive Officer Alok Tandon told BloombergQuint in an interview. “This year also we are as aggressive as we were last year.”

Tandon’s confidence stems from the good start the India’s second-largest multiplex operator had with the release of ‘Avengers: Endgame’. It was followed by releases such as ‘Kabir Singh’ and ‘Joker’, which garnered footfalls.

“The content has been extremely good and that I feel will continue. We have got a great slate of movies which are lined up for the entire festive season,” he said.
