Infosys Ltd. on Wednesday condemned the allegations leveled against its co-founders and former employees by “anonymous sources”.

The anonymous sources made “mischievous insinuations against the co-founders and former colleagues , suggesting their involvement in recent whistleblower allegations”, the software services exporter said in an exchange filing.

These speculations are appalling and seem to be aimed at tarnishing the image of some of the most accomplished and respected individuals. I have deep regard for the life-long contribution of all our co-founders. They have built this institution and have served this company selflessly and even today, remain committed to the long-term success of Infosys.
Nandan Nilekani, Chairman, Infosys

The statement came nearly two weeks after a letter by a group of “Ethical Employees” accused Infosys Chief Executive Officer Salil Parekh and Chief Financial Officer Nilanjan Roy of dressing up the company’s books. Following this, the firm’s audit committee appointed an external law firm to conduct an independent investigation into the allegations.

On Monday, Infosys told the bourses that its investigation into a whistleblower complaint had prima facie received no “supporting evidence”.

Shares of Infosys pared opening losses and traded 2.9 percent higher at Rs 715.80 each. That compares with a flat benchmark Nifty 50 Index.
