Godrej Consumer Lines Up Series Of New Launches This Financial Year

Godrej Consumer expects powder-to-liquid handwash to generate Rs 200 crore sales in two years.

Godrej Consumer Products Ltd. plans to launch seven to nine new products this financial year across categories after October.

The Mumbai-headquartered consumer goods maker announced the launch of a powder-to-liquid hand wash Protekt Mr. Magic price at Rs 15. The company expects the product to generate sales of Rs 200 crore in the next two years, Sunil Kataria, CEO India and SAARC at Godrej Consumer, told BloombergQuint. The liquid handwash market in India is about Rs 750-800 crore, he said.

Growth in rural India is back to normal and categories that are not heavily penetrated like face and hand washes have a huge scope to grow, Kataria said.
