Fortis Gets Shareholder Nod To Sell Stake In Medical And Surgical Centre

Fortis Healthcare Ltd. has received shareholders' nod for offloading its stake in Medical and Surgical Centre Ltd., the hospital operator said on Monday. The special resolution was passed by 99.99 percent of the valid votes polled, Fortis said in a regulatory filing.

Medical and Surgical Centre is an indirect associate company held through Fortis Healthcare's wholly-owned subsidiary Fortis Healthcare International.

On Monday, Fortis Healthcare shares fell 2.00 percent to Rs 130.05 apiece on the BSE while the benchmark Sensex shed 2.01 percent to end the day at 38,720.57 points.
