Deutsche Bank Hires Banker Kwok to Head West Coast Tech M&A
(Bloomberg) -- Investment banker Jusung “Juice” Kwok is joining Deutsche Bank AG as managing director and head of West Coast technology M&A, according to a company memo obtained by Bloomberg.
Kwok will start in May in San Francisco reporting to Thomas Cho, head of Americas technology M&A, and Bruce Evans, head of Americas M&A. He joins the German bank from Citigroup Inc., where he has provided mergers and acquisitions advice to technology companies since 2018.
A representative for Deutsche Bank confirmed the contents of the memo. A representative for Citigroup declined to comment.
This is a return to Deutsche Bank for Kwok, who was a member of the firm’s technology M&A group from 2004 to 2012. After that, he spent about six years as vice president of corporate development at Samsung Electronics Co.
He worked on deals for Samsung including its $8 billion acquisition of Harman International Industries Inc. and the company’s $1 billion sale of its printer business to HP Inc. Both deals closed in 2017.
“Juice is a seasoned M&A banker with 20-plus years of technology banking and corporate experience, and is an excellent addition as we continue to expand our technology coverage and M&A footprint,” Deutsche Bank Head of Technology Investment Banking Ajay Shah said in a statement.
In January, Deutsche Bank also hired investment banker Kushal Saha from Truist Financial Corp. to lead its coverage of U.S. internet companies.
