Face Masks To Be Made Compulsory If Cases Rise, Says Maharashtra Health Minister

Maharashtra Health Minister Rajesh Tope said there is no need for making face masks compulsory in the state as of now, but if there is an increase in new Covid-19 cases, then face coverings will be made mandatory.

India reported daily Covid-19 cases above the 3,300-mark for the fourth day in a row, resulting in a higher active case tally.

The nation reported 3,324 fresh coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, according to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare's update at 8 a.m. on May 1. That's slightly lower than yesterday's 3,688 figure.

Yet, India's active case tally rose for the fifth day, crossing the 19,000 figure.
