Cluster of Florida Coronavirus Cases Linked to Same Cruise Port

(Bloomberg) -- Florida said it has traced three coronavirus cases to a cruise service company operating out of a heavily-trafficked seaport in Fort Lauderdale.

All three cases were linked to Metro Cruise Services’s operations at Port Everglades, according to a statement sent Tuesday from the Florida Department of Health.

On its website, the company says it manages cruise terminals, provides stevedore services and offers shore excursions, among other things.

Florida said anyone who recently visited the port and is showing symptoms should call a doctor and self-isolate. Anyone who came in contact with the three people through Metro Cruise Services should also self-isolate.

Phone calls weren’t answered at the company’s corporate address in Long Beach, California, and it wasn’t possible to leave a message.
