India’s Ministry of Home Affairs saw the steepest rise in fund allocation in the Union Budget for the financial year 2020-21.
The Amit Shah-led ministry, which received the second-highest allocation among all major ministries, saw its share in the budget rise 40 percent over last year to Rs 1.67 lakh crore. The Ministry of Defence remained the most well-funded with an allocation of Rs 4.7 lakh crore—a 9 percent increase over last year.
