BloombergQuint has ranked among South Asia's top three best news websites in 2021, according to the World Association of News Publishers.

The WAN-IFRA Awards recognise South Asian publishers who have delivered unique and original digital media projects in the last 12 months.

In their fifth edition, the awards received more than 140 entries, close to double the number received in the previous year. They were evaluated by an international jury of media professionals.

The preeminent award is for Best News Website (or) Mobile Service, for which BloombergQuint has been awarded the bronze.

The Quint won silver and Malayala Manorama won the gold for the third time in a row.

The Quint also won gold for Best Use of Online Video - for its story Life in an Auto: The Inspiring Story of 74-year-old Sole Breadwinner, Desraj Jyot Singh.

Among the 26 other winners across 9 categories are The NewsMinute (Spunklane Media), Foundation for Independent Journalism, NDTV Convergence, BBC News among others.

The winners will receive their awards virtually at the upcoming South Asian Digital Media Awards 2022 on 8-10 March, WAN-IFRA said in its statement announcing the awards.

Launched in 2016, BloombergQuint is one of India's leading multimedia news and views platforms. It covers economy, financial markets, business, law and policy matters. Among the first to launch a subscription product, BloombergQuint has delivered journalism of high quality, accuracy and integrity to a growing audience of readers and viewers in India and across the world.
