Black Friday Will Be Busiest of Five-Day Shopping Weekend

(Bloomberg) -- An estimated 164 million people plan to shop -- both online and in stores -- during the five-day “weekend” of Thanksgiving Day through Cyber Monday this year. Black Friday will remain the busiest with 71 percent of them set to open wallets, according to a National Retail Federation survey. “Whether it’s heading to the stores after finishing their turkey or going online on Cyber Monday, consumers will be shopping all weekend and retailers will be ready to meet the demand,” NRF President and Chief Executive Officer Matthew Shay said.
