Bank of America Pledges $100 Million to Fight Health Crisis

(Bloomberg) -- Bank of America Corp. pledged to donate $100 million to support populations hurt by the coronavirus.

The funds will be distributed to various communities, as well as national and global organizations, the bank said Tuesday in a statement. They’re intended to aid medical response, address food insecurity, assist educational efforts amid school closures and support vulnerable populations, according to the Charlotte, North Carolina-based lender.

“We must all work together as one global community,” Chief Executive Officer Brian Moynihan said in the statement. “As the needs in our local communities continue to rapidly escalate, we must take swift action to provide resources where there are gaps.”
