Ashok Leyland Bags Order For 1,750 Buses From Tamil Nadu

Without disclosing financials of the deal, Ashok Leyland says its order book for state transport bodies has enhanced significantly

Commercial vehicle maker Ashok Leyland Ltd. has bagged an order from Tamil Nadu State Transport Undertakings for 1,750 buses, the Hinduja Group flagship firm said on Wednesday.

While financial details of the deal were not disclosed, Ashok Leyland said its order book for state transport undertakings has enhanced significantly.

"We are very happy to receive the confirmation of this order. Our ability to bring value, combined with our superior technology and innovation will help us maintain our leadership position in buses in lndia," Anuj Kathuria, chief operating officer at Ashok Leyland, said in an exchange filing.
