Anuj Aggarwal Replaces Guruprasad Mohapatra As Chairman Of Airports Authority Of India For Three Months

Anuj Aggarwal will keep additional charge of AAI chairman for three months starting Aug. 1.

Regulator Airports Authority of India has appointed board member Anuj Aggarwal as its chairman, replacing Guruprasad Mohapatra who has joined the commerce ministry as secretary, Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade.

The temporary appointment of Aggarwal, who is the member-human resources at AAI, is effective from Aug. 1, the airports regulator said in a statement on Thursday.

"The competent authority has approved the enstrustment of additional charge of the post of AAI chairman to Anuj Aggarwal, member (HR), in addition to his own duties for a period of three months or until further orders, whichever is earlier," said a civil aviation ministry order of July 31.

Mohaptara, an IAS officer of the Gujarat cadre, was appointed as the DPIIT secretary on July 25. Aggarwal, the seniormost board member at AAI, has been serving on the board since December 2014.
