Adani Transmission Wins Contracts For Two REC Projects In Gujarat

Adani Transmission has received contracts for REC’s Jam Khambalia Transco and Lakadia Banaskantha Transco projects in Gujarat.

Adani Transmission Ltd. on Thursday said it has bagged two contracts from REC Transmission Projects Company Ltd. to develop power transmission projects in Gujarat.

Adani Transmission has received letters of intent from RECTPCL to build, own, operate and maintain two transmission projects in Gujarat for a period of 35 years, it said in a statement.

Jam Khambaliya Transco, one of the two projects, comprises of around 40 circuit kilometres of 400 kilovolt direct current line along with 400 kV substation at Jam Khambaliya, Gujarat.

The second project, Lakadia Banaskantha Transco, will comprise around 360 ckt kms of 765 kV DC line along with 765 kV bays at Lakadia and Banaskantha substations in Gujarat.

Both these projects are set up to evacuate power from Gujarat's wind and solar energy zone in Jamnagar and Radhanesda, respectively, to Lakadia pooling station, it said.

These projects were awarded to the company under the tariff based competitive bidding process.

On Thursday, Adani Transmission's shares rose 3.36 percent to Rs 273.70 apiece on the BSE while those of REC Ltd. gained 1.78 percent to Rs 139.80. The benchmark Sensex gained 0.19 percent to end the day at 40,129.05 points.
