Accenture Adds 800 Tech Jobs to Create Toronto Innovation Hub

(Bloomberg) -- Accenture Plc is creating an innovation hub in Toronto, adding 800 new jobs to help clients work on technologies from artificial intelligence to blockchain.

The hub is designed for clients to work with Accenture to co-innovate and scale up new products and services, the Dublin-based consulting firm said in a statement Tuesday. It will be located in Scotia Plaza on King Street West in downtown Toronto.

The jobs will be added by 2020, part of a network of 10 hubs across North America. The firm currently has almost 5,000 employees in Canada.

Accenture joins a surge of technology investment in the city. In September, Uber Technologies Inc. said it would spend more than $150 million in Toronto’s driverless car research, while Shopify Inc. announced a $380 million investment.
