Jet Airways Is Showering Discounts This Monsoon

You may be able to fly to your favourite destination at a significantly lower price if you book your tickets in the next three days.

Jet Airways (India) Ltd. is offering up to 30 percent discount on its international flights, and up to 25 percent discount on select economy class flights within the country, according to an emailed media statement. The five-day sale will be on offer between June 26 and June 30.

“Guests travelling to Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Bangkok, Dammam, Dhaka, Doha, Dubai, Hong Kong, Jeddah, Kathmandu, Kuwait, London, Manchester, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah and Singapore can enjoy substantial discounts on their premiere and economy class bookings,” the statement said. “This five-day fare sale will be applicable for guests booking both one-way and/or return journeys.”

Tickets booked as part of this offer will be valid for travel from July 11 onwards. “A fifteen day advance purchase is necessary for travel on this offer,” the statement added. It has not disclosed how many seats will be available under this offer. Neither has it named the domestic routes that will be part of the offer.

Over the last one year, India's second largest airline operator has seen its domestic market share slowly erode. Jet Airways, along with its subsidiary Jet Lite, held 15.2 percent of India's domestic market share in May 2018, compared to 17.6 percent in the same month last year.

Earlier this week, the company also announced its plans to buy an additional 75 Boeing 737 Max single-aisle planes, as it looks to match rivals who have been also placing orders to meet India’s rising aviation demand. The latest purchase has brought Jet Airway’s backlog for narrow-body aircraft to 225, according to its statement.

Jet Airways’ stock closed 5.9 percent lower today, compared to the benchmark BSE Sensex index that ended trading 0.8 percent down.
