Perella Weinberg Hires Senior Morgan Stanley Consumer Dealmaker

(Bloomberg) -- Perella Weinberg Partners hired senior consumer banker Stacia Schlosser Ryan from Morgan Stanley to be a partner in its advisory business.

Schlosser Ryan will cover retail, food, beverage, household and personal-care companies, Perella said in a statement Monday. She will be based in Chicago with Brennan Smith, a partner and head of Perella’s office in the city, and work alongside Cem Koray, who leads the firm’s consumer and retail group, according to the statement.

The dealmaker, who joined Morgan Stanley in 1998, was a managing director at the U.S. investment bank. During her two decades at the firm, Schlosser Ryan worked at Morgan Stanley’s New York, Sydney, Menlo Park and Chicago offices.

New York-based Perella advised U.S. skincare brand Rodan & Fields LLC on its May deal to sell a minority stake to TPG. Last year, it worked with Kate Spade & Co. on its $2.4 billion sale to Coach Inc., according to data compiled by Bloomberg.

In April, Perella announced that Louis Susman, previously a Citigroup Inc. investment banker and a former U.S. ambassador to the U.K., would join as a senior adviser. Susman will provide guidance as the firm expands, especially in the Midwest and London, the firm said in an April statement.

Perella has more than 650 employees globally. In addition to its advisory arm, Perella has an asset management business with about $14.1 billion of capital commitments and managed assets.
