(Bloomberg) -- U.S. airfares to the Caribbean and Latin America rose 29.9 percent in May from a year earlier -- the largest increase in records dating back to 1995, according to data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics.

Jet fuel prices are up and demand is adding pressure amid buoyant consumer confidence in the economy. Delta Air Lines Inc. last month announced more flights between John F. Kennedy International Airport in New York and the Caribbean.
