Morgan Stanley Asia Pacific ECM Co-Head Jerome Leleu Dies at 41
(Bloomberg) -- Jerome Leleu, Morgan Stanley’s co-head of Asia Pacific equity capital markets, has died.
Leleu, who was a Hong Kong-based managing director at Morgan Stanley, passed away last week in the city, a representative for the bank confirmed Monday. He was 41 years old.
The banker joined Morgan Stanley in 1998 as an analyst and was promoted to managing director in 2010. He was appointed co-head of Morgan Stanley’s Asia Pacific ECM business in 2013, working alongside Mille Cheng.
“We are deeply saddened by the loss of a talented colleague and good friend,” Morgan Stanley said in an emailed statement Monday. “Jerome will be greatly missed and our thoughts are with his family at this difficult time.”
Morgan Stanley was the top arranger for equity offerings in Asia Pacific in three out of the past five years, according to data compiled by Bloomberg. It ranked third in 2013 and second in 2015. Last year, the bank completed 95 offerings in the region that raised a total of $17 billion, the data show.
