Duke Begins Building Hawaii Solar Farm at Pearl Harbor Navy Base

(Bloomberg) -- Duke Energy Corp.’s REC Solar unit began construction on a 20-megawatt solar project at the U.S. Navy’s Joint Base Pearl Harbor-Hickam West Loch Annex in Hawaii.

The West Loch project will be owned and operated by Hawaiian Electric Co., according a statement Monday. It will produce energy for less than 8 cents per kilowatt-hour.
