India Names Bhanu Pratap Sharma As Banks Board Bureau Chairman
The government today appointed Bhanu Pratap Sharma as the chairman of the Banks Board Bureau.
The government today appointed Bhanu Pratap Sharma as the chairman of the Banks Board Bureau, Financial Services Secretary Rajeev Kumar said on Twitter.
Sharma will replace Vinod Rai whose term ended March 31, 2018. Sharma is currently chairman of the recruitment and assessment centre of Defence Research and Development Organization, and former secretary of the Department of Personnel and Training.
Members of the new bureau include:
- Vedika Bhandarkar, former vice chairman and managing director of Credit Suisse India.
- P Pradeep Kumar, former managing director at State Bank of India
- Pradip Shah, founder and managing director of CRISIL
Kumar’s tweet did not mention the tenure of the new chairman or its members.
Members of the bureau are primarily tasked with appointments of heads of public sector banks.
