Bharat Electronics Ltd. said it crossed the Rs 10,000 crore revenue milestone in the financial year ended March 31.

The state-owned defence equipment maker ended the year with an order book of Rs 10,000 crore, a bit lower than internal targets, MV Gowtama, the chairman and managing director, told BloombergQuint in an interview. Gowtama was speaking on the sidelines of the Defence Expo 2018 in Chennai.

The order book was lower as orders for Akash Missile Systems, and Long-Range Surface-to-Air Missile orders didn't come through due to procedural issues, Gowtama added.

The Akash and LRSAM orders are expected to add more than Rs 6,000 crore to the order book, which stood at Rs 40,000 crore at the end of March 31, 2018.
