V-Mart Retail Ltd. is hoping to clock double-digit same-store sales growth by March 2019.

“Internally we’ve set a target of around 8 to 10 percent depending on market conditions and our abilities,” the lifestyle stores operator’s Chief Financial Officer Anand Agarwal told BloombergQuint in an interview.

V-Mart has outlined plans to add 15 to 17 percent to its retail operating area in the current financial year. That’s like adding 35 new stores, said Agarwal.

V-Mart recently opened a store in Uttar Pradesh, taking the total number of outlets in the North Indian state to 56. The company now has 172 stores in 145 towns and cities.
